Spencer a nerdy gamer, Bethany a self-centered girl, Anthony and Martha a bookworm all the four high school kids enters into an old game Jumanji but with new avatars. How they survived and escaped from it is the plot of the film.
Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan appeared in lead roles. Child roles played by Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Ser'Darius Blain and Morgan Turner. Other cast includes Nick Jonas and Bobby Cannavale,
Jumanji is written by Chris McKenna and directed by Sex Tape and Bad Teacher fame Jake Kasdan under Columbia Pictures banner. Henry Jackman has composed the music for this film and Gyula Pados is the cinematographer.
Jumanji reminds us of late actor Robin Williams who stole the heart of all kids with his funny performance in the 1995 Jumanji. This time it took Dwayne, Jack Black and Kevin Hart to fill the void. We are familiar with the chemistry between Rock and Kevin for their previous collaboration in Central Intelligence which was slapstick in this movie too. Jack Black is an additional thing to tickle the ribs. Gillian too had some funny moments.
Jake Kasdan who has arrogated the best team of the cast and knew exactly how to use their skill set in elevating the humor where he succeeded as a director. With the extravagant CGI in the film, he could have created a bit bigger things which are missing from the 1995 original. Gyula Pados's cinematography must be appreciated for capturing magnificent moments which he already proved with his work in Maze Runner franchise.
Take your kids and family to enjoy this fun filled adventurous game.
