Rajinikanth(Arya) was born in theatre screening Dharmathin Thalaivan as one of the characters played by Rajinikanth in the film, He also has forgettable nature, it becomes an embarrassment to his parents in some crucial situations. With this forgetfulness, Rajinikanth cannot get suitable bride which leads to hilarious situations. He falls in love with Vandhana(sayyeshaa) and tries to woo her with all his tactics without knowing his weakness to her. With his caring and simplicity nature, Vandhana also falls for him and introduces him to her father Sathyamurthy(Sampath). On the other hand, the police officer also wants to marry Vandhana. Do Satyamurthy accepts the Love? Did Vandhana known the weakness of Rajinikanth will she accept him or not forms the rest of the crux?
Gajinikanth is a remake of Telugu super hit film Baley baley Mogadivoy in Maruthi's direction. Each and every frame is taken from original and every scene is predictable. The climax is usual and formal ending is given by the director. Arya as a lead performed well and tried to manage like a forgetful man, provided situational comedy where it needed but his comic timing is not incredible compare to original film. Syesha in the role of Vandhana is convincing, who plays a trained Kuchipudi dancer, looks cute and gorgeous. Satish, Nareen, Sampath all performed well in their roles. Balamurali Music added life to the movie, the Background music is attractive. Cinematography by Balu is eye-catching.
