Gali Guleiyan is a psychological drama set in the location of old Delhi. The story runs with two parallel tracks, one of Khuddoos (Manoj Bajpayee) and the other of Idu (Om Singh). which merge to the central point of the film and form the crux of the tale.
The film opens with a character (Khuddoos) obsessed with spying on his neighbors with surveillance cameras, watches the multiple screens on his table with morbid fascination. By watching then neighborhood in the cameras he loses touch with reality and passage of time. But one day he hears the hard crying sounds beaten by his father from his adjoining house. Khuddoos wants to help the boy and he is unable to control himself, mounts the spy cameras in the neighborhood to save the boy. But to his disappointment, his cameras fail him.
Idu is the boy who is brutally beaten by Liakat, his dominating father who is a butcher. His cries hard it disturbs Khuddoos. He feels helpless as their paths don't meet.
Manoj Bajpayee effortlessly performed in his role, his role is convincing and promising as Khuddoos. Om Singh as Idu is equally captivating. His bonding with mother Saira, essayed by Shahana Goswami, is impressive. Neeraj Kabi as Liakat is rough and unassuming. Cinematography and visuals are good. Music gives the right mood to the plot. Production values are fine. All this elevates the directorial efforts of Dipesh Jain
